Ninety Minutes, Described Honestly
There is no theatre in this. A fitting is a sequence of measurements taken in a sensible order, and the order matters more than most people expect.
We Start With What You Already Own
The first fifteen minutes of every appointment happen at the bench, not in the bay. Your clubs go on the frequency machine, across the loft and lie gauge, and onto the scale. Length gets measured against the ruler rather than trusted from the label.
This is unglamorous and it is the single most useful part of the session. About half of the players who walk in are fighting a set that has drifted out of step with itself, and no amount of testing new equipment will explain a problem that already exists in the bag.
You get those numbers whether or not you buy anything. They are yours.
Takes about fifteen minutes for a full bag. Longer if we find something interesting, which we usually do.
Why the Order Is Not Negotiable
Change two variables at once and you learn nothing about either. The stages below exist so that each decision is made against a stable background.
Inventory and Conversation
Measurements from your current clubs, plus five minutes of plain talk: where you play, how often, what the miss looks like, whether anything hurts. A player with a sore left wrist gets a different grip recommendation than one without, and that will never show up on a launch monitor.
Baseline Under the Radar
You warm up and hit your own club until the numbers settle. We are not judging the swing, we are establishing what normal looks like for you today — delivery speed, strike pattern on face tape, and how much your dispersion moves shot to shot.
Profile Board and Shortlist
Candidate shafts are checked on the profile board, where stiffness is read at several points along the length rather than assumed from the flex letter. Two or three make the shortlist. Handing a golfer fifteen options is a way of avoiding a decision, not making one.
Test Heads at Your Length
Shortlisted shafts go into adapters or test heads cut to the length you will actually play, so the comparison is not polluted by a half-inch difference nobody mentioned. You hit them blind wherever practical.
Head, Loft, Lie, Grip
Now the remaining variables get resolved. Loft sleeve position, movable weights, lie angle off the impact board, grip size and build-up. Each one is changed alone and re-tested.
Trim Spec Written
Before you leave, the build sheet is filled out: raw length, tip trim, butt trim, target playing length, target swingweight, grip and tape plan. You see it and you sign it. Nothing gets cut off a verbal agreement.
Assembly and Verification
Build happens here, usually within three working days. Every finished club is re-measured against the spec, and any club outside tolerance is pulled apart and redone rather than shipped with an apology.

These are the limits used on the bench. A club that misses one gets rebuilt.

What Happens in the Following Month
New clubs feel new, which is a poor proxy for correct. We ask everyone to play four or five rounds before making a judgement, then come back if anything reads wrong.
Loft and lie re-checks on clubs we assembled are free for the life of the club. Irons in particular move — a season of firm Missouri turf and range mats will shift lie angle a degree without any dramatic event to blame it on.
If a club genuinely does not suit you after a fair trial, we would rather rework it than have it sit unused. That conversation happens more often than you would think and it is never awkward.
